The Holidays Are Approaching, What's Your Style?

The Holiday season is a magical one. While children may get excited about Santa, the adults get excited for the atmosphere! Bring on the twinkle lights, Hallmark Movies and hot chocolate by the cozy fire with family and the Christmas tree nearby.

I am excited to get decorating this season! Here are some of my favourite trends this year:

Vintage:
Dig out Nana’s tree ornaments and Aunt Lisa's decorative ornaments! Decorating doesn’t have to cost a fortune (or anything at all)! Your home will be cozy and festive when filled with traditional decorations.

DIY Style:
Think natural: pine cones, evergreen branches, eucalyptus, berries - keep it simple! Wooden candle holders, natural tree ornaments, and lanterns will make a beautiful, textured design this Christmas. Don’t forget to touch all the senses - cinnamon and citrus smells from a diffuser will add the perfect finishing touch.
Blue Christmas:
Move over red, green and gold, blue is joining in this year! Add navy blues and ceruleans to your decor for a touch of glamour.

Objects:
Popular decorations this year include deer figurines, polar bears, snowy owls, and vintage-y Christmas trees. Another very popular one is the Llama! Cute and fluffy Llamas bring in bright colours and furry textures.
Patterns:
Don’t be surprised when herringbone or polka dots show up on gift wrap under the tree or on Christmas cards. This simple touch adds a modern simplicity to the holidays.
Kitchen Decor:
Many decorate the living room, but don’t forget the kitchen! Vintage nutcrackers will look right at home on the counter, bring out those Christmas themed mugs, hang wreaths on the cupboards.
What is your decor style this holiday season?
