Organics Live

I recently had the opportunity to speak with Michelle, of Organics Live and was able to find out all about the company.  Here are the questions I was wondering about.  

1. Please tell us briefly, your story; how did Organics Live come to fruition?

Organics Live Barrie came to fruition after Frank and myself lost all our parents. We were looking for a business stop start and had lost my mother to Cancer at the age of 55 and then my Uncle moved in with us. He is diabetic and controls his diabetes by diet.

We started to look more thoroughly into the Organic sector and were amazed at what we found. We wanted to make it easier for families in this area to have clean, healthy food in their homes. 

2. The team behind OL, whom are they and what are their rolls?

If you want to know about Organics Live Barrie.  It is Frank and myself (Michelle Esposito). We are the local owners.  We have a team of delivery drivers including our daughter. 

3. How does OL obtain the produce?

Organics Live sources their food from small to mid scale local organic farmers when possible. We also opt to import certified organic produce from other countries to fill in the gaps and allow

our customers more options for produce in their box. i.e.  avocados, bananas oranges etc are not available in Canada. 

4. What is your servicing/delivery area?

Organics Live Barrie delivers to all of Barrie, Innisfil and the entire L0L postal code area.  (Tiny, Oro, Elmvale, Cookstown, Thornton etc) as well as Angus/Borden. 

5. If clients did not want a delivery, can they pick up direct from you?

Pick up is not available.  Delivery is always free and we will leave the box on your porch or according to any special instructions you have in your account if you are not home.

6. Why the term 'LIVE?'

This I am not sure- the founders of the company chose the name. 

7. What's your most popular time of year for clients?

Our most popular time of the year for our clients is in the winter. The convenience of having healthy produce delivered right to your door and not having to worry about weather etc is very appealing. 

8. Do you include recipes in the boxes delivered?

There is a blog with recipes, as well as sent each week in the box update email and in the box itself on the back of the packing slips. 

9. Can people make substitutions?

Each weekend from Friday evening-Sunday at 9pm, customers can log into their accounts and customize their box out of the available produce options for that coming week's deliveries.

We love the Pink Lady apples when they are available.
