Fall Family Photos

As a thank you to our amazing clients, we hosted a free family photoshoot at Sunnidale Park last week.  Photos were done by the talented Hannah Sever Photography. The weather was perfect and we are excited to see how the shots turned out.  After some serious begging on my part Hannah sent over some sneak peaks and I think they turned out fantastic. Nothing makes a house a home quite like family does, so we wanted to celebrate that with some family photoshoots for our amazing clients to help capture the stage they are at right now.

If you have booked a family photoshoot for this autumn, here are some great tips for capturing that perfect shot!

Think "coordinated", not "matchy matchy" - choose a couple colours to focus on, and select outfits that contain those colours while allowing each others personalities to shine! I'd suggest having one person wear each of your colours (a navy dress with a mustard belt and white heels, maybe) and the others can wear an item of clothing with one or two of these colours tied in (a navy button down on your hubby, mustard pants on your son, for example).

When choosing what to wear, picture where in your house your photos will be hanging. What would look good in that space? Neutrals? Brights? Pastels?
Great colour options for fall photos are: browns, mustard, burnt orange, neutrals, dark purple, and dark green.

Instead of fighting for that picture perfect family, focus on your family's personalities at that moment in time and let that shine through. One of my friend's family pictures were done with her son's Spiderman gloves on, because he refused to (ever) take them off. Memory captured!
Never, ever forget snacks or lipstick. Have you booked any family photos for this year?
